In Geneva, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Illinois, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Geneva is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Geneva follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This was a lovely plant and gift shop. I enjoyed looking around and found a few varieties that I don't already own. The prices were fairly high. Many of the 4 inch pots were $18-24 or more. However, the plants were incredibly healthy and full. So even though you're buying a small pot, many of the plants were more mature. The whole store had sweet little gift items. The store is nestled amongst Geneva's Historic District on 3rd Street. The shopping is wonderful there. If you go, plan to spend hours. There are many restaurants and so many lovely stores.

My boyfriend and I were in downtown Geneva checking out some of the shops before dinner when I noticed there was a plant store. I am so happy I found this place! Their plants look really healthy and they have an amazing selection. I had been looking for a scindapsus pictus (often called a satin pothos, but I learned while I was here that it’s not actually a pothos). The nurseries I’d been to never had one and so I was pleasantly surprised they had quite a few to pick from! Laura was super helpful and kind! They have a really pretty setup. They sell adorable decor and plant pots as well. As someone who is new to plants, I appreciated Laura’s expertise and advice. She answered all my questions thoroughly. I was advised that I could buy soil for my plants from them in the future whenever I need to repot. She gave me a plant card with information on how to care for my plant at checkout. I also joined the plant points program. I live kind of far but will drive out here again to buy another plant, soil, or anything else I may need in the future! If you’re a plant person, you must visit GROW Geneva.

Absolutely LOVE Grow. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The Monthly Plant Club’s little something extra was this adorable mini terrarium made by one of the staff❤️ The amount of love and time that went into hand crafting this tiny terrarium is what makes Grow so special.

I can’t say enough great things about Grow. I’ve been shopping here on and off since they first opened in their smaller location down the street, and over the past year my visits have become much more frequent. The shop is beautiful, and the plants are always healthy and thoughtfully displayed. They also carry a great variety of non-plant items that make it fun to browse. The owner and employees are consistently friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They always keep popular staples in stock, but they also rotate in unique varieties I’ve never even heard of before. While the plants may cost a little more than Lowe’s or Home Depot, the few extra dollars are absolutely worth it. You’re getting high-quality plants in good soil, along with guidance from staff who truly know what they’re talking about. Grow also offers a variety of monthly classes. I highly recommend the Houseplant 101 class, whether you’re brand new to plants or have been growing them for years.

This is the cutest plant shop! Everything is designed and displayed so beautifully, and the staff is so friendly. Their plant inventory was very impressive - they had tons! They also stock other cute items, like candles, notebooks, plant books, pots, etc. I purchased a crocodile fern, and the girl who checked me out provided all the care tips I needed on an organized care card for me to take home. Can’t wait to come back!
